Welcome, how is your body today?
— now taking new Pilates clients in Alameda, CA —
I believe that whatever body you have right now is a good body and that developing a positive relationship with your body is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
Using standard Pilates equipment and using tools such as Konnector straps and the OOV, I approach our sessions with the goal of getting buy-in from your body and nervous system to explore and re-pattern new ways of moving and exercising. We are looking to hear a “yes” from your nervous system before progressing and we pause or stop if your nervous system tells us “no.” As your body gains proprioception and kinesthetic intelligence, you will likely experience improved motor control, balance, strength, nervous system regulation, and mobility. In a session with me, you are always in control.
In addition to these physical benefits, a Pilates practice can build self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and self-trust. As your Pilates instructor, I would be honored to be a partner to you in that journey.

My approach
I teach a contemporary form of Pilates, refined from its classical form by doctors and physical therapists, trained via Polestar Pilates. As such, I have extensive experience working closely with physical therapists to support rehabilitation in patients recovering from injury, surgery, and illness, as well as supporting the fitness goals and needs of weekend warriors, athletes, teens, retirees, postpartum folks, and desk job workers.
Whether you’re practicing with me one-on-one or in a group setting, you’ll benefit from my rigorous training, my deep, intuitive, and qualitative understanding of movement, my experience working with bodies of all shapes, sizes, and abilities, as well as my own lived experience of what it’s like to have a body living with chronic intermittent pain and disability.
