Move your body with intention
— now taking new Pilates clients in Alameda and Oakland, CA —
I believe that whatever body you have right now is a good body and that developing a positive relationship with your body is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.
In addition to physical benefits such as improved mobility, flexibility, strength, and balance, a Pilates practice can bring tremendous and deepening self-knowledge, self-acceptance, and self-trust. As your Pilates instructor, I would be honored to be a partner to you in that journey.
Not included in my Pilates practice or in my business practices:
Body shaming, fatphobia, or ableism
Capitalist values such as perpetual growth, exploitative or extractive policies, and perfectionism.
I am nationally certified (NCPT) and Polestar Pilates-trained.

my approach
I teach a contemporary form of Pilates, refined from its classical form by doctors and physical therapists to create Polestar Pilates. As such, I have extensive experience working closely with physical therapists to support rehabilitation in clients recovering from injury, surgery, and illness, as well as supporting the fitness goals and needs of weekend warriors, athletes, retirees, and desk job workers.
Whether you’re practicing with me one-on-one or in a group setting, you’ll benefit from my rigorous Polestar training, my deep and intuitive understanding of qualitative movement, my experience working with bodies of all shapes, sizes, and abilities, as well as my own lived experience of what it’s like to have a body that needs to move but has forgotten (or perhaps never learned) how.
